Arunachala naturally has many names, Sonagiri is one dear to me because it means ‘golden hill’; in the evening light many years ago when Arunachala was denuded – when it was magnificently rocky, the rocks on the slopes at the back of Sri Ramana’s ashram were dotted with us – regularly soaking up the golden glow that envelopes everything so soothingly a few minutes after sunset. Later when I lived out at Summa house opposite Sonagiri Forest, this golden glow would be experienced from the embankment at the back of the forest and Sonagiri Thirthum, on the seasonal lakeside.
I am an Australian woman dividing time between Arunachala mountain in South India and Coburg in Australia. The WP blogs provides creative non-fiction photo reportage posted mostly from around Arunachala Mountain - such as Welcome to Kali Yuga, although Sonagiristories contains some stories set in Australia. Another WP.com site contains watercolours, cartoons, deck of cards, silk banners, hand-made, printed and published books, puppets and so on, under title :THE SECULAR SACRED - images towards an exology of mind. All these WP sites are incorporated in one blog under one title: hinge-pin-press.com. I hope everyone who visits enjoys themselves. Salute!
